The Simplified Camera

For a point-and-shoot girl like me, navigating through high-tech cameras with their various options is kinda overwhelming. I want my camera to be with all the frills, but be simple enough for me to keep the handbook away! The solution lies in the Rotor 360 Camera, a concept devised to keep menus and sub-menus easy. The design consists of a spine tabular column that brings together all the key functions in one place for optimum use.

As Charlie explains, “The column consists of several cylinders stacked on top of each other forming a set that in would fit into the camera. To access the features and menus, just drag the thumb on the cylinder are in order to rotate each function. Each cylinder would correspond to a line displayed on the screen.”
In other words it’s a camera for me!

Dhobi Ghat Special - Non Electrical Washing Maching.

Besides the washing machine, most Indian women depends heavily on the Dhobi (aka washer man) to wash the house linen. Heavy-duty laundry is always assigned to this curious breed of people (dhobi), who carry their load to the nearest dhobi ghat and manually launder the towels, bed sheets, trousers etc. Crisp ironed linen and clothes are handed back after a week and the next stack is lined up for collection. Indra is a concept washing machine to aid the dhobi with his washing and make life more easier for him.

Manual labor is cheaper in India than using electricity and machines. Thus the Indra is designed on this premise. A look at this video here will give you an idea on how the dhobis function.
Incase you are wondering, my dhobi comes in every Monday for collecting the clothes!

Flat Packing the Piano

Would Mozart and Beethoven have a problem if their grand piano was digital and came flat-packed? I think not, if they had a sense of humor, they would totally appreciate this new outlook at transporting one of the biggest and heaviest of home furniture! I like the Foldable Digital Grand Piano, I want one, and hopefully it sounds as good as the real thing!

Texting's Girls.

Texting has become such a huge part of our communicating that it must be addressed in regards to picking up women.

If you don’t know how to text a girl back in a way that keeps building attraction and sexual tension… she’ll

quickly grow bored.

Whenever you get ready to send a text, take a moment to run through these rules, courtesy of Stylelife Academy:

Rule 1: Don’t text to avoid phone conversation.

Before you send out a text message to a woman you should ask yourself what you hope to gain by this action. The

question pertaining to texting that I receive most from guys generally goes like this:

“The other day I met this girl, and we had a good time. I ran tight game and I number closed her. When should I

text her and what should I text?”

My response to this is, “Don’t text her. Call her.”

It seems to me that many guys, especially those that are just entering the social arts, see texting as a safer

arena for contacting woman than calling them. This is wholly understandable, but entirely unacceptable. Think

realistically about this situation. If you just met a woman and you number closed her, then your next goal is to

have a second meeting with this woman. Keep in mind that the likelihood that you will set this up with her via text

message is lower than if you call her and build more comfort verbally.

Also, if you are texting because of your fear of interacting with this woman, then how will you ever hope to

interact with her comfortably face to face? I would only consider texting a woman in order to set up a day two in

three possible scenarios.

She texts me first, so I must text back.
I call her and she does not answer the phone. Instead of leaving a voice-mail I will send a text, which seems much

less needy to me and are generally received sooner than voice mails.
I text her with the implied purpose of getting her on the phone. In this scenario we may banter back in forth with

text but after a few exchanges I will simply call her.

Rule 2: Bring value when you text. Do not seek value.

Whenever I send an initial text I do not ask an open ended question that is intended to seek value. Some examples

of these might be “What’s up?” or “What are you doing tonight?” In my opinion these texts come off as needy and

invoke no emotion in the woman you are contacting. When I text, my goal is to elicit emotion and display my playful

personality. Example texts of these are “I just saw a guy wearing a fanny pack and it reminded me of you.” or “Hey

dork!  I bet you are operating at a level of 100% dorkiness today.” Really lame jokes work well as initial text to

get a good laugh and display playfulness. A recent thread in the Elite forum field tested this concept and had some

nice examples of these. My contribution was:

Text 1: What do you call a fish with no eyes? (Wait for her response)

Text 2: Fssshhh

In addition, if you are texting a woman try and use a humorous “call-back” from the previous time you spoke with

her. A “call-back” is a comedic technique in which you restate a joke you have said previously after a length of

time. For example, if you had previously given a woman you are texting a nickname, like “Tiny Fingers” or “Grabby

Hands”, then use this in your text.

Rule 3: Avoid Sending Too Many Messages!

I know she might be the only thing on your mind at the moment but let’s keep that a secret between us, otherwise

you may freak her out. So, text once and when you get a reply you may text back. If she doesn’t respond to your

text, you should generally hold off until tomorrow before you try to contact her again.

I also wait a few minutes after receiving a text before responding. I do this so that I don’t give off the

impression that the only thing I have going on in my life is waiting for a new female friend to text me. Remember

being non-needy always equals sexy because it conveys that you must have other dating options in life.

Rule 4: Use texting to invoke the law of familiarity.

This is more of a tip, but it’s a damn helpful one. The best method I have found for using text messaging is using

while in set. After I meet a woman and number close her I immediately send her text while in set still standing

next to her. This situation by itself is humorous and if you send a funny message it’s doubly so. Try in-set text

messages like, “You have my number now but you are only allowed to call me once per day” or “Who is that really hot

guy standing next to you?”

If, after texting her, she saves you number, then you can take that as a definite indicator of interest. More

importantly, when you call her later, your phone number will pop up and be familiar.

A woman is always more likely to answer a number she recognizes then one she does not.

Every Last Drop

It’s bad enough that, each year, millions of printer ink cartridges end up in landfills and incinerators. What’s worse is that most aren’t even empty! To make the most of the remaining ink, this smart design transforms from ink cartridge to handy stamp with a quick and easy removal of the cap. Not only does it help to cut back on wasted ink, but it also serve as a reminder to reduce, reuse, and recycle items that are often taken for granted.

Morning Raga - the Light Bulb Radio

I can’t make up my mind about the Light Bulb Radio, I think it borders between cheesy and sleek and am unwilling to write it off so soon. What I like most is its clever designing and the way the radio + nightlight combo has been given a new vibe. The light bulb influence and simple user interface makes it even more appealing. What do you think?

Divine White Light & The Guru

If you prepare yourself to know the higher knowledge, then you will deserve. To deserve means to increase your capacity. You want to put the entire ocean in a bucket. The ocean is there. You can have it, but you do not have the capacity. When you deserve, you will have the capacity. The Lord, the Reality, the Truth, is always within you. You simply have to become aware. You can make sincere efforts to work with yourself.

The light itself will guide you.

Don’t be disappointed with failures. When you start to make sincere efforts and start to practice, you will find light on the path. The light itself will guide you. The light of consciousness is within you. If you ignore that light, the guide outside you, the external teacher, will be of no use to you. He will make you a slave. Every individual has certain notions. He also lives with his notions. He creates a following and millions of people are swayed and misguided.

Do not depend much on guides.
It is better for you to prepare yourself and remain awake.

Do you know what a guide means? The word guru has been vulgarized. Such a pious word is being misused. I call it guide. Do not depend much on guides. It is better for you to prepare yourself and remain awake. The scriptures say to wake up from the deep sleep of ignorance. Remain fully awake, remain conscious, and go on learning. Never close the door of learning. The day you close the door of learning you become ego, ego, ego.

In the Himalayas the teacher examines the student and the student examines the teacher. When my master sent me to various teachers he told me, “The teacher who can sit still for a long time is a good teacher because he has practiced something. Listen to him. If the teacher changes his posture many times in five minutes, do not waste your time there.” There are certain signs and symptoms that have been explained by the great scriptures. The scriptures help the student to know who is a good teacher so he does not waste much time. Otherwise, what are we teachers doing?

Suppose you want to go to New York. You come to Swami Rama for directions and Swami Rama says to go this way. You meet a different Rama on the way and he says, “Oh, come on! He does not know anything. Go this way.” And the student is very sincere. Then another teacher says, “Both Ramas are fools. Better go this way.” By that time the poor fellow has wasted twelve years and he is nowhere.

The knowledge should be followed, not the individual personality of the teacher.

The word teacher means “knowledge.” The knowledge should be followed, not the individual personality of the teacher. The subject should be given prime importance, not the individual. Teachers have complicated things. Yoga science has suffered because of this. One teacher says, “This is my method.” Another teacher says, “This is my method.” The poor student is confused. After some time he finds that his mind, his individuality, and his pocket have been robbed.

From your external teacher just pick up that which is useful for you and leave that which is not useful.

When you become aware of the light within, and that light reveals the Truth to you, there are no chances of being misguided. Teachers come and go. From your external teacher just pick up that which is useful for you and leave that which is not useful. No doubt you need a teacher, a guide. I will never tell you that you should not seek and you should not learn from other people, or that you should not study books. Teachers only inspire you and make you aware of that Self-existence that you have forgotten. Their role is to make you aware of the Reality.

You do not need any new form. Christians should not become Hindu, Hindus should not become Buddhist, and Buddhists should not become anything else. They should remain as they are and not create any serious new problems for themselves. A known devil is better than an unknown devil. Remember this. Try to make your life happy wherever you are.

Go to the inner levels of your being and be guided by the light that is already within you.

Yoga science tells you to go to the inner levels of your being and be guided by the light that is already within you, that leads you in the darkness. If you understand the light within, when you are introduced to that light, you will not crave for any outer guidance. Learn to make your abode in darkness so that you can see the light, but not the superficial light. Superficial light creates problems for you and does not allow you to see the light within.

When you start treading the path you will never find any difficulty, for the light is already within you. The light within you is coming out. When I look at your faces I find that they are different because of the light that has the power of discrimination. That light can correctly judge and understand and know. That light is higher than any other light of the sun, the moon, and the stars. That is why human beings are superior to all these lights that you see outside yourself.

The purpose of a guide, guru, or teacher is to introduce you to that light.

In the light of the sun, in the light of the moon, and in the light of the stars there is no discrimination. The light within you has the power of discrimination. You can use that light to see the darkest corners of your inner chamber. For that you do not need outer guidance. The purpose of a guide, guru, or teacher is to introduce you to that light.
